It's been a shit week.
First and foremost, the XR was stolen on Friday night.
Some flaccid-dicked pus-gargler went into my shed, pushed my ride-on mower out of the way, rolled the DR650 back, Ignored the CRF and the Yamaha, then cut the barbed-wire fence and took off with my XR. I've had that bike for 12 years. I won't bore you with how I'm feeling. I'm sure you've heard or read it all before.
I'm doing everything I can to recover the bike, and that's about all there is to be said.
But before that, Honda phoned to say, very politely, that the CRF had to be returned and sold. The worldwide economic downturn has hit Big Red as hard as everything else, and, unfortunately, the test fleet would have to be savagely reduced.
No problem there. Business is business, and I totally understand Honda's position. They've been good to me for 15 years, and I'm sure we'll continue to get on fine. We've seen these types of ups and downs before.
But now my racing year is in tatters. I have no bike for the Four Day, and no bike for the ORCs.
I don't feel like buying another bike so some spineless sperm-swallower can come and help himself to it from my shed, and in any case, I'm going to have to spend a reasonable chunk on security for the bikes I still have - none of which is suitable for cross-country racing.
You get that, but.
The cover for issue #26 is hornier than a viagra-dosed rhinoceros, and there's some really nice pics and stories in the issue. Dave the artist has excelled himself, and even Jake IT managed a decent story (even if it was three issues late). So at least that seems to be going okay.
I'll lose a day next week as I run around putting up 'Stolen' posters, but then I'll probably jump into TBAM's next DVD. It's looking really good with segments on Laos, The Yamaha Hanmer Springs Safari, and Longest Day, as well as the usual Shed tips. I've recorded a couple of tracks I'm really happy with, and have a third started, so I'm hoping youse will like the sound and vision.
Until next week,
TFÂ
