I missed last week's blog 'cos I was a bit pressured trying to finish issue #35 (anyone who accepts that excuse is welcome to apply for a job as my boss).
As so often happens, everything pretty much turned to shit in the last few days. It was actually weird the way it happened.
First up, everything was actually in good shape. I was heading up to the Gold Coast office to tie up loose ends and send the mag on its way. I'd forgotten, but, that I'd been listed for jury duty. I've never done jury duty before, and to be honest I was quite interested in how it all worked, even though it was at an inconvenient time for me. Someone has to do these things, and I don't mind taking my turn. So I sorted it out with office and sat around waiting to see if I needed to do my civic duty. As it turned out, I didn't, but instead of just saying, "You're right. Off you go," the message delivered was, "Didn't need you today after all. Maybe tomorrow. Just hang around until we make up our minds."
So that cocked things up a bit.
By the time I was free to head up to the office it was time to go see the surgeon about my leg. I have to book with the guy three months in advance, so I was reluctant to change that appointment. He seemed to think the leg is coming along just fine, so that was good at least.
That was a Friday, so I'd lost nearly a whole week, but was I raring to go the following Monday when my good pals in the advertising department did one of their, "Just another couple of days and we'll have a squillion dollars!" tricks. It's frigging annoying, because they do it often. Of course, that means they often bring in a squillion dollars, which is why they keep getting the extra time.
By the time that was all sorted we'd missed our scheduled print day and I was feeling the pressure.
It's all done now, but, thank Dog, and I have #36 to think about. I have a few bits and pieces ready for that issue, which feels good. Josh Green has been home recovering from his knee damage in Italy, and he was in good enough shape to jump on a TM250 for some pics. For a guy who's supposed to be injured, he looked incredibly sharp. It's a pity my photography wasn't up the standard of his riding. Here's one of my favourite shots from the day...

Well done by me.
I also pushed the knee-brace piece back to issue #36 because we needed the space in #35. So that's two stories done for next issue already! Excellent! We're off to Maleny in a couple of weeks - I hope I'm going to run the 125 at last - and then Seven Hills is the week after that. Then it's back off to Cape York for a ride with Lee, who's doing a great job on his columns. That puts me up against the deadline for #36.
D'oh.
To make up for my not blogging last week, here's a pic of Monica Bellucci. She's not in the news or anything, she's just frickin' gorgeous. She's an italian model and actress, if you're interested.
