For years now we have been crossing Australia and exploring it's remotest corners. During these trips we have had cause to evacuate riders due to falls and accidents. The only help out there is from the Royal Flying Doctor Service. They are just a phone call away to help with everything from simple medical questions to helicopter evacuations in the Simpson. So we thought it was time to give something back. The Adventure Safari is a 7 day adventure ride open for all makes and models of Dual Sport / Adventure bikes. The ride is a fundraiser for the RFDS. The ride starts half way between Brisbane and Sydney and ends a week later half way between Sydney and Melbourne. Whether you ride a postie bike or a BMW GS Safari is an event for adventure riders. Adventure Safari is an off road adventure ride open to all motorcycles with a recognized off-road capability and being ridden solo.
Once our recce crew have finished planning the route more specific information on the ride, and what you can expect to experience will become available. The registration form is available HERE. There are only 200 190 170 spots available on the Adventure Safari. By limiting the numbers we are able to access private property and plan our overnight accommodation in smaller towns this keeps the ride off the bitumen and in interesting terrain.
Once registered you will receive a confirmation email and an accommodation booking form that will show the overnight destinations along with pricing and accommodation options.
On arrival and after registering in the "Adventure Pub" at our starting point there will be Welcome Drinks and Nibbles. After a safety briefing you will get you route details and map for the next days ride. The next morning will start with a Welcome Breakfast, then you are welcome to leave at any time as long as you leave before the sweep truck.
Each morning our route marker crew will leave at sun up and mark the routes. During the week there will be a few days with route options, an easy way and a hard way. Each route will be marked on your route sheets and further information will be available at the briefing. Each day will have about 350 km of riding, taking 6 - 8 hrs.
At each overnight stop there will be the Adventure Pub. A central meeting place where the beer will be guaranteed to be cold and the food good. There will be an evening briefing and you will get the route sheets and map for the next days ride.
On the final Saturday night there will be a Farewell dinner and entertainment with awards and prizes.
